Mehmet Oz was born on 11th of June in 1960 in Ohio. His parents were Turkish and they were both physicians. His father was Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öz who was a heart surgeon. His mother’s name was Suna. The family visited their relatives in Turkey periodically. One day, when Mehmet was 9 years old, he read an article in a magazine about 12 dead people who died because of heart attack. Then he decided to become a heart surgeon, too.
